Our Mission

Mission of ISKCONtoday.org

ISKCONtoday.org is setup by ISKCON, Inc. to provide a forum to discuss, provide practical solutions and help implement the issues of grave urgency facing the mission of His Divine Grace A. C. Bhaktivedanta Swami Prabhupada TODAY.

These issues of great urgency are:

1. non-functional GBC of ISKCON. Which is the GBC of ISKCON, how are they to be formed and how should they function?

2. The level of respect and sincerity of the leadership of ISKCON is at abysimal levels. It is not conducive for evoking trust among general devotees so as to seek guidance from them. There is a void in effective leadership. In short, ISKCON is practically without a head. Without head, the Society is adrift.

3. This fact is made more concrete by knowing that even after decades there is No Constitution of ISKCON inspite of Srila Prabhupada's instructions to form one. No organization functions without a properly formed and adopted Constitution.

4. Book distribution is at very low levels worldwide, probably except in India. This is a microsom(spelling?) of the decline of the overall preaching enthusiasm in the movement. "One who has life, he can preach." How should this "life" be encouraged in the devotees?

5. non-functional BBT. What are BBTI and Bhaktivedanta Book Publishing, Inc? Why are they operating as if they are the BBT of Srila Prabhupada? Why is BBT not being run according to the written instructions of Srila Prabhupada in the BBT Instrument of May 29, 1972? Why is BBT not in operation, not even a bank account of BBT? Why are the copyrights of Srila Prabhupada's books registered by BBTI instead of by Srila Prabhupada's BBT? Why is the author of these books listed as "worker for hire" on the copyright records, the hirer being BBTI? Why is the BBT, by the shadowy BBTI, being promoted to be a publishing house of Gaudiya Vaisnava books rather than directly as books of Bhaktivedanta Swami, the author and setlor of Bhaktivedanta Book Trust?

6. A culture and tradition of changing Srila Prabhupada's Books is being set on the pretext of correcting mistakes in Srila Prabhupada's books. What will happen to Srila Prabhupada's books in the next 2-3 generations? What about after 1000-3000 year? How should we safeguard Srila Prabhupada's books? What should be done to address the spelling and gramatical issues in the originally published books being raised by the current BBT Trustees?

7. Where is the Sankirtan Monthly BTG, meant to be the backbone of the Society?

8. How do we restart the Daily Sankirtan in Western Cities and Towns on a mass scale as earlier?

9. Why don't we reinstate the standard and process of Deity Worship taught by Srila Prabhupada wherein He is worshipped first and then Lord Krishna in all the temples? There is a serious decline in the standards in temple worship, so how can the new devotees be trained smoothly?

10. What do we do to attract intelligent new devotees and to retain them? Does the movement have the required environment to inspire them to surrender their lives, for their lifetime, to Srila Prabhupada's service?

11. Why is there a confusion on the Guru Tattva? Pure devotional service begins by accepting the shelter of a Bona-fide Spiritual Master(NOD CHapter ..)! The Siksha Guru whose instructions we follow the most generally becomes ones Diksha Guru. (Proper quotes) Who is that Bona-fide Spiritual Master, Diksha Guru, if not Srila Prabhupada? Confusion on this point bodes ill for the pure devotional development of the devotees without which all may remain at best on a pre-neophyte platform as may be probably evident from the state of movement currently.

12. How and what can we do to counter the blasphemy of the pure devotee Srila Prabhupada done at excruciatingly regular intervals by "senior" devotees? What more can all of us do to Glorify Srila Prabhupada more so as to remove the envy to him in our hearts? Do we really understand Srila Prabhupada based on the activities of Pure Devotees described in Srimad Bhagavatam?

13. How do we rectify the image of Hare Krishnas worldwide from
an outcast "cult" or "sect" to one of being the leaders of the Society
to give direction to it as Srila Prabhupada expects us to do?

14. Why is there practically no model farm community in the West based on the Varnasrama principles given by Srila Prabhupada? How are the general devotees going to find a mode of goodness environment to practive devotional service especially in the West? How are they going to learn how to live and serve together in a Vaisnava Community, cohesively, without politics, without fighting, reprising ones given role peacefully, if not in a farm community? Are the following social evils, a significant result of grahasthas living in the cities, not enough to prompt us?

15. What are the reasons that the majority of the devotee marriages break down? What are the solutions?

16. What should we do to ensure to raise our children in KC free of anxiety and abuses so as to give them a reasonable chance to perfect their lives? How do we give them proper education without the bad association from the modern society?

17. How do we ensure that older devotees pass the last stage in their bodies in a "Vrindavan-like" atmosphere?

Srila Prabhupada said many times that his mission is to train Brahmanas(quote). Where are they? We need them to step up to discuss these issues soberly and come up with real solutions.

Those who come forward, we hope will start guiding us the ISKCON of TODAY and in turn the whole humanity for generations following the instructions of His Divine Grace A. C. Bhaktivedanta Swami Prabhupada.
